In Africa about 70 percent of people are engaged in agriculture, accounting for over 60 percent of GNP for most African countries. In Uganda over 95% of the people most especially those in the rural areas depend on agriculture for food and income generation. There is need therefore to support the farmers. This is because majority of the farmers practice subsistence agriculture which is characterized by low productivity both for food and cash
Despite these numbers, Africa remains the continent with the largest food deficit in the
world, with one-third of its people suffering from malnutrition. In addition to malnutrition,
food insecurity leads to environmental degradation, poverty, and a wide range of healthproblems.
The food security and Agriculture project is aimed at attaining income for the organisation , food security and reduce
poverty among the rural poor communities through increased household food security,
incomes and improved environment.
And greatly reduces on the number of children on Streets and Malnutrition levels
