In Africa about 70 percent of people are engaged in agriculture, accounting for over 60 percent of GDP for most African countries. In Uganda over 95% of the people in rural areas depend on subsistence farming which is characterized by low productivity both for food and income. Therefore to support the farmers.
Despite these numbers, Africa remains the continent with the largest food deficit in the world, with one-third of its people suffering from malnutrition. In addition to malnutrition, food insecurity leads to environmental degradation, poverty, and a wide range of health problems.
The food security and Agriculture project is aimed at reducing food insecurity, reduce poverty among the rural poor communities which will later improve the environment and greatly reduce on the number of children on streets and Malnutrition levels
