Our Story

Introduction

PROBLEM STATEMENT

OUR GOAL

Creating Hope International Uganda (CHIU) is a not for Profit Organization focusing on extending of basic services to vulnerable children like Orphans and Women. We Strive to work with children and women to address their economic, social and environmental Challenges. Our goal is to create an informed, creative, innovative, educated, free and happy children-woman society in Uganda.

We want to promote a good and better future generation of children by giving hope to the Orphans, less privileged Children through providing them with School fees, food, medicine, Beddings and clothing among others while promoting their spiritual well-being.

We also aim at Lifting Women out of poverty through sustainable Development Strategies by providing them with working capital, basic training on entrepreneurship, Legal Aid, Psycho- Social support and Counseling.

Women and children play a vital role in our society therefore neglecting a percentage of them is burning the future.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Due to the HIV epidemics, many children have lost either their mother or father and worst of it all. In cases where one parent passes on and the other lacks an income generating activity, they end up either running away from their families or dumping the children either at rubbish pits, at the road sides or any place they would not be noticed. This has led many kids growing up on streets and even some end up dying because of lack of food, medication and poor hygiene. Some children have lost all their parents and their left all alone or with their grandparents who cannot work because of age and also with care takers who lack enough money to take care of them.

Because of the gender inequality in our country, where a woman is considered to be at home, many have ended up not receiving education which has affected their productivity. Many lack the skills to take better their living and also many lack Capital to startup businesses. We have also many categories of women in the “old age” and need assistance since many are widows.

OUR GOAL
The main goal is to transform the lives and wellbeing of the orphans, less privileged and Women in Uganda through providing school fees and basic needs to the children, skill training and creating income generation activities like crafts, farming, developing their talents, offering Psycho–social support, counselling and Legal Aid to the women. This will enable them become self-sufficient thus able to make a significant contribution to their lives and community around them.

There will be Economic Empowering of the women through mentorship, exposing them to Skills Development Programs. Many women have skills but lack the drive and capital to start up. Through our mentorship program, many skills will be developed thus economic growth within the women.

CHIU has so far 50 children mostly orphans, 22 women, 2 children and 5 women living with HIV, we are covering in our program. Our first project is to provide school fees for at least 50% of the orphans for the start, provide clothing, medication and beddings to them. Give capital to some of the women to start up their own business.

We have identified hospitals to provide medication and counselling for our members who have health problems.

On 30th-7-2019, CHIU managed to visit one of the families. Where an old woman takes care of 21 orphans and we extended some assistance like food, books, pens, pencils and clothes.
